The management of the Strategic Development Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Lord Alexander Carlile, a member of the House of Lords of Great Britain and director of “SC Strategy Ltd”.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the expansion of economic relations between the United Kingdom and Uzbekistan, the improvement of the regulatory framework that stimulates the country’s foreign trade.
“The growing interest in cooperation with Uzbekistan is due to the results of the reforms implemented in the economy in recent years. We would like to strengthen cooperation and bring Uzbek-British relations to a new effective level. In particular, judicial reforms, international investment and technological, economic and other forms of cooperation. And in this regard, we consider interaction with the Strategic Development Agency as a link between us and the ministries and departments of the country», – Lord Alexander Carlile.
Therefore, during the meeting, they discussed strategic issues of attracting investment and realization of projects implemented by SDA to identify promising areas of investment activity, development of proposals for the reform of industries based on international experience and increase the investment potential of the regions.
The sides also discussed the possibility of developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar and Great Britain at the highest level through the company “SC Strategy”.
Lord Alexander Carlile also expressed an interest in having Uzbek agricultural specialists travel to the United Kingdom and pass on their experience through special training and educational programs at British universities.
Following the meeting, agreements were also reached on possible cooperation within the framework of the establishment of an international commercial court in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
