On March 4 of this year, a meeting was held at the Agency for Strategic Reforms (ASR) with high-ranking representatives of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The discussion concerned the project “Road Map for Sustainable Reform of Investment Policy in Uzbekistan”, as well as current problems in the field of transport connections, policy measures aimed at developing trade and integration in the country. At the meeting, assessments of the implementation of reforms in the field of improving the legal environment for business and investment were also discussed in detail.
Among the meeting participants were ASR Deputy Director Rustamkhon Azizov, Deputy Head of the OECD Investment Division Stephen Thomsen, RSIPR Project Manager and Head of the FDI Quality Group Fares Al Hussami, Central Asia Division Head Gregory Lecomte, Policy Analyst Celeste Laporte and ASR Representative Temurbek Ganiev .
This event is an important step in Uzbekistan’s aspirations for sustainable economic development and attracting foreign investment. The exchange of experience and expertise with the OECD opens up new horizons for effective reforms in the country, facilitating its integration into the global economic system.
