As previously reported, on the initiative of the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms, the Tourism Committee and the Embassy of our country in London, the documentary film “UZBEKISTAN THE GOLDEN ROAD” was produced.
The film, created by the renowned British scholar, writer and television presenter Bettany Hughes, tells the story of the great history and tourism potential of our country. In particular, it showcases the landmarks of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as the Bukhara, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Samarkand, Surkhandarya and Khorezm regions. The film features in-depth conversations with historians, archaeologists, museum staff and others.
The documentary was broadcast on 18 October this year in prime time on the British TV channel Channel 4. Its premiere generated great interest among the British public and was covered by such prestigious media outlets as The Times, The Daily Telegraph, iWeekend, Radio Times, TV Guide, What’s on TV, Wanderlust, TV & Satellite Week and others.
For audiences in our country, the film has been translated into Uzbek and Russian and professionally dubbed by the Agency for Cinematography. It is currently being broadcast on 21 television channels in Uzbekistan.
