The focus is on the development of the Strategy for International Branding of Uzbekistan. And in it, according to the Head of the Foreign Ministry, it is important to correctly place accents, from the country’s historical heritage to the achievements of New Uzbekistan.
– New Uzbekistan is an open country in all respects. Today it is a center of tourism, science and education, culture, and international politics. As you know, our country is located in the center of the Central Asian region and is strategically important for Southeast Asia and Europe as a whole.
All of the state’s development should be reflected in the international branding strategy. Tolerance, great tourism, the potential for science and industry, and international relations are a few of these. Uzbekistan is currently positioned as a center for high-level sub-political debate with regard to the latter. An illustration of this is the SCO Summit that took place in September of this year, which resulted in more than 200 publications in the international media regarding the head of state meetings that took place in conjunction with the Summit and significant SCO decisions that were made. There are still a lot of significant high-level events to come, such as the Turkic States Summit in November of this year and the EBRD Governors’ Annual Meeting in Samarkand. – Vladimir Norov, Republic of Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs
