The first meeting of the Working Group on studying issues of establishing the International Commercial Court in Uzbekistan was held in the Strategic Development Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan under the chairmanship of Marie-Anne Birken, legal expert of the Project Office of the Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on economic development, good governance and international cooperation.
The meeting was attended by staff of the Supreme Court, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other government agencies, and representatives of international organizations such as the UN Development Program, the Europe-Uzbek Association for Economic Cooperation (EUROUZ), the Tashkent International Arbitration Center.
The meeting was held in a spirit of constructive debate. The discussions led to decisions on the agenda and the identification of short-term plans.
