From June 30 to July 1, 2022, the Strategic Development Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan took an active part in the annual meeting of the GREEN Action 2022 Task Force, held in Tbilisi, Georgia. The meeting brought together officials from ministries and agencies of Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia (EECCA) countries, OECD member states, as well as international partner organizations, financial institutions and representatives of environmental NGOs and the private sector.
The agenda of the meeting discussed the progress and implementation of the GREEN Action Task Force work program since the last meeting and outlined future directions. Participants exchanged views on recent developments and plans for “greening” policy measures for economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, discussed the environmental and economic implications of policy measures climate policies in the EECCA region, assessed the progress of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Green Actions work program and outlined selected results. They also discussed the future direction of the Working Group on Green Actions, in particular, the main elements of the 2023-24 Work Program.
Within the meeting framework, the Strategic Development Agency held a series of meetings and negotiations with the management of the OECD on the development of green economy, the development of free economic zones, the use of water resources. Also, discussions were held on the possibility of cooperation and exchange of experience with representatives of Armenia, Switzerland, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Slovakia.
