Director of the Agency for Strategic Reforms Bakhodir Rakhmatov, held an online meeting with Sir Suma Chakrabarti, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on economic development, effective governance and international cooperation.
During the meeting, the results of the Adviser’s Office activities in 2025 were reviewed.
Special emphasis was placed on the effective management of the “Country Platform” for Uzbekistan as a mechanism for cooperation between government agencies and ministries, international financial institutions and donor organizations, as well as on strengthening the efficiency of the platform’s secretariat and working groups.
The parties also exchanged views on analyzing demographic trends and their socio-economic implications, expanding the use of statistical data in policymaking, and drawing on advanced international experience. In this regard, practical recommendations were presented concerning the draft National Demographic Development Strategy.
Organizational aspects of upcoming roadshow events under the slogan “New Uzbekistan: A Big Country with Big Opportunities” for foreign investors were also discussed. The discussion underscored the importance of providing services to new investors on a “one-stop-shop” (concierge service) basis, along with the need to further strengthen human resource capacity in the sector.
- Chakrabarti highlighted the importance of continuing cooperation in the education sector within the framework of the University of Oxford’s Said Business School academic program in 2026.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed their interest
in further expanding international cooperation and confirmed their commitment to consistently deepening collaboration in priority areas while advancing new joint initiatives.
