The Director of the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms, Bahodir Rakhmatov, held an online meeting with British historian, scholar, and television presenter Bettany Hughes.
As previously reported, a joint project with Bettany Hughes and her team resulted in the production of the documentary film “UZBEKISTAN: THE GOLDEN ROAD” The film premiered on October 18 this year during prime time on the British television channel Channel 4.
At present, the Cinematography Agency is working on translating and dubbing the film into Uzbek and Russian. It is planned to be broadcast
on both state and private television channels.
During the discussion with Bettany Hughes, the parties explored prospects for further creative collaboration and the production of new episodes of the documentary series.
In particular, the next episode is expected to highlight projects initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev – including Tashkent City, the Center of Islamic Civilization, the Amirsoy Resort, New Uzbekistan Park, and the Olympic Village – as well as natural landmarks in Zamin, Kokand, Kitab, Sangardak, and Muynak.
Such films aim to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people and the country’s modern infrastructure, strengthen Uzbekistan’s positive international image, and advance its tourism brands on the global stage.
